Thales in Australia supplies and sustains a range of products for the ADF including: munitions, weapons, optronics, protected vehicles, mission packages, and command, control, communications and computer (C4) systems.
Through our industrial resources and long-term contracts with the Commonwealth, we are the custodian of much of Australia’s indigenous defence design, manufacturing, through life management and logistic services capabilities for munitions, rifles and vehicles.
Thales in Australia has a long and proud history with the Royal Australian Navy having designed and delivered a variety of solutions in both the underwater and above water domains. The company operates the RAN’s major east coast refit, repair and maintenance facilities at Garden Island, NSW, and is the leading provider of communication systems to the RAN. For more than two decades, Thales in Australia has been supplying advanced sonar systems to naval and civil customers in Australia and overseas.
In Western Australia, with operating sites in Rockingham, West Leederville and HMAS Stirling, Thales delivers sustainment capabilities to Navy, through our Underwater Systems and Above Water Systems domains. Prominent activities include maintenance and upgrade of the sonar capabilities as a Collins Class Submarine Enterprise partner, MU90 Light Weight Torpedo in-service support, and platform and sonar system services in support of the ANZAC class FFH.
